Shawn Barber puts on show at annual Drake Relays

Team Canada's Shawn Barber competed as part of the 107th annual #DrakeRelays, not in a stadium, but in a mall. This isn't the first time he's competed in an untraditional space, and it won't be the last, as this June he's set to showcase his skill at Toronto's Yonge-Dundas Square.

Canadian is no stranger to odd vaulting venues

Wednesday marked the start of the 107th annual Drake Relays.

No, not that Drake.

The Drake Relays is an annual track and field event held in Des Moines, Iowa at Drake University.

This year's event kicked off with a special event: Vault at Capital Square Mall.  Many vaulters partook, including Team Canada pole vaulter Shawn Barber.

Not only did he compete, but he also came out victorious!

Perhaps it's because he's no stranger to vaulting in untraditional places, like this Zurich train station back in September.

Where should Barber vault next?

Shawn Barber is already set to showcase his talents this June at Yonge-Dundas Square before heading to Rio, but where else would you like to see him vault?

After you decide where he should vault next, be sure to watch, "Could Barber vault it?"
