Canadian sprinter Aaron Brown set a personal best in the 100 metres on Saturday, running a time of 9.96 seconds at the Star Athletics meet in Florida. His previous personal best was 10.05.
Brown, 24, ran the fastest time in the preliminaries, beating out Tyson Gay in his heat who ran a 9.97 behind the maximum allowable legal wind of 2.0 m/s. Brown and Gay were the only sprinters to run sub-10 seconds in the preliminaries.

American Marvin Bracy ran a 9.94 in the final after running a 10.10 in the preliminaries, to win the event.
