Canadian tennis star Milos Raonic took to Facebook on Friday to announce he is withdrawing from the 2016 Rio Olympics.

It was a surprising announcement considering Raonic makes an appearance in Team Canada's "Ice in our Veins" campaign.

Some fans were understanding of the 25-year-old's decision, even suggesting all athletes take a pass on Rio.

Other fans reacted to the news a bit more emotionally.

British rower Phelan Hill thinks Milos' withdrawal has more to do with a Brit than a bug.

Rowers Maxwell Lattimer and Christine Roper — who will represent Canada in Rio — are not happy with the decision to skip out.

Most people aren't buying what Milos is selling, saying the Zika excuse is more of a cop-out than anything else.

Even Olympian Adam van Koeverden is throwing some subtle shade while posting a relevant stat on the Zika virus.
