Calgary's Allison Beveridge had a rough opening day in the track cycling women's omnium on Monday, finding herself in 13th place after three events with 50 points.

The final three events are scheduled for Tuesday, beginning with the 500-metre time trial at 9:57 a.m. ET.

A crash in the opening scratch race put Beveridge in trouble right from the get-go.

The 23-year-old got tangled up with Germany's Anna Knauer as their wheels touched briefly and the two took a tumble. Both cyclists were able to continue, with Beveridge and Knauer finishing 14th and 16th.

She had a better performance in the afternoon's individual pursuit, finishing in ninth with a time of 3:36.938, good enough for 24 points. Her total of 38 points through two events bumped her to 12th in the overall standings.

In the final event of the day, the elimination race, Beveridge came in 15th, giving her just 12 points and a 13th-place standing overall.

The leader after three events is Britain's Laura Trott with 118 points.

Beveridge has already won a bronze at Rio 2016 in the women's team pursuit.
