Andrew Wiggins will be NBA's breakout player: GMs
Excutives also say LeBron James will lead Cavaliers 2016 title
NBA general managers believe Canada's Andrew Wiggins is due for a breakout season.
The 20-year-old from Vaughan, Ont., in his second season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, received 17.2 per cent of the votes in the NBA.com GM survey, to top the category: Which player is most likely to have a breakout season?
Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo was second (13.8 per cent), and Washington's Bradley Beal third ( 10.3 per cent).
NBA GMs believe LeBron James will finally take Cleveland to the top.
The Cavaliers will win their first NBA championship and James will claim his fifth MVP award in the process, according to results of the survey released Tuesday.
The Cavs received 53.6 per cent of the votes from those responding to the poll, beating out San Antonio (25 per cent). Cleveland reached the finals last year before falling to Golden State, which finished third in the poll with 17.9 per cent of the votes.
James got 39.3 per cent of the MVP votes to outpace New Orleans' Anthony Davis (25 per cent). Davis got an astounding 86.2 per cent of the votes as the player executives would want to build a franchise around now.
