Hockey Canada unveiled its newest Team Canada hockey jersey on Tuesday and fans will get to see a lot of them in the coming year.

These particular jerseys will be worn at the upcoming world junior championship, men's and women's world championships and sledge hockey worlds.

Olympic gold medalist Marie-Philip Poulin and two-time Paralympic medallist Greg Westlake were both at the announcement in Toronto to model the new sweaters.

The dark grey shoulder patches are lined with rows of maple leafs, and a small 'Canada 150' patch on both sleeves commemorates the 150th anniversary of Confederation (1867-2017). The jerseys are also made with Nike's 'Ripstop Fabric' and breathable mesh under the arms.

Fan reaction to the new Team Canada attire was generally positive.

But not everyone was excited to see the return of a few familiar features, namely the black colouring and large Hockey Canada logo.

The jerseys have a decidedly different look from the World Cup of Hockey sweaters unveiled by Adidas in March. Adidas most recently signed a seven-year deal to become the official NHL outfitter starting in the 2017-18 season.
