Crosby won gold with Canada at the 2010 and 2014 Olympics and hoisted the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2009.
The Cole Harbour, N.S. native joins Canadian players Rob Blake, Joe Sakic, Brendan Shanahan, Scott Niedermayer, Chris Pronger, Eric Staal, Jonathan Toews, Patrice Bergeron, and coach Mike Babcock in the category recognized by the International Ice Hockey Federation.
The 27-year-old chipped in with a goal in Canada's victory over Russia on Saturday.
And Crosby will always be remembered for scoring the "golden goal" that lifted Canada over the United States in overtime at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.
In total, there are 26 players in the Triple Gold Club. Canada and Sweden now both have nine, along with six Russians and two Czechs.
