Patrick Kane reaches 100 points this season after hat trick
Blackhawks winger reaches milestone for 1st time
Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane had his second career regular season hat trick catapult him to the 100-point mark in a season for the first time in his NHL career.
The 27-year-old had three goals and an assist Sunday afternoon in a 6-4 victory over the Boston Bruins.
"A special day," Kane said. "My 100th point on a hat-trick goal as well. Pretty cool the way it happened. Just one of those nights where things are going in.
"Our line was creating a lot and had a lot of chances. Just a fun night overall."

The last NHL player that managed to reach 100 points in the regular season was Sidney Crosby, who accomplished the feat in 2013-14 with 104. Penguins teammate Evgeni Malkin, who did it in 2011-12, is the only other player to reach the milestone in the last five seasons.
Kane is now 12 points ahead of last year's points leader Jamie Benn in the race for the Art Ross Trophy, and he could become the first American-born player to claim the honour.
It has been a record-breaking year for Kane. The Buffalo native set a franchise record 26-game point streak that stretched from Oct. 17- Dec. 26, shattering Bobby Hull's 21-game record that stood for 44 years.
Kane had his only other regular season hat trick earlier this year in Toronto on January 15 in a 4-1 trouncing of the Maple Leafs.
