Toronto police issued a news release Sunday, alerting the public to the fact that Terry Trafford has not been seen since last Monday.

The Saginaw Spirit centre was last seen in Michigan state, at which point he was believed to be headed to Toronto.

Trafford, who recently turned 20, has played for the Spirit for several seasons.

Team president Craig Goslin told the Saginaw News that the organization is "very concerned" for Trafford.

"The entire Spirit organization is very concerned for the young man and we hope and pray that he is safe and found soon," read a statement on the team's website.

The Saginaw Spirit franchise will not provide any more comment until "professionals searching for him complete their work," the statement read.

Trafford was last seen driving a green Chevrolet pickup truck with the Michigan licence plate CJA2235.

He is described by Toronto police as a 5'9" black male, who weighs 170 pounds. Trafford has black hair.

Trafford's player profile on the Saginaw Spirit site however, lists his height as 5'11" and weight as 190 pounds.
