The NHL today revealed the jerseys that will be worn by players at this year's All-Star Game in Nashville.

According to the league, the sweaters' design is a nod to the host city, "its vibrant night life and Music City nickname."

The black, gold and white colour scheme is similar to that worn by the Predators, while the NHL crest and the numbers on the jerseys contain "reflective material which glimmers in certain light as a salute to Nashville's vibrant night-life scene."

The numbers and letters on the jerseys will be "modern interpretations of traditional country music poster lettering, which has been a defining aesthetic of Nashville," the league said.

The All-Star Game will be played Jan. 31 under a new format: a four-team, three-on-three tournament comprised of three 20-minute games, with a winner-take-all prize of $1 million US.
