The Montreal Canadiens say forwards Alex Galchenyuk and David Desharnais will each be out six to eight weeks with knee injuries.

Galchenyuk, the team's leading scorer with 23 points (nine goals, 14 assists), was hurt in Montreal's 5-4 shootout win at Los Angeles on Sunday.

Desharnais, who has three goals and six assists this season, was injured in the second period of Montreal's 3-2 overtime loss at St. Louis last night.

As a result of the injuries, the Canadiens recalled forward Sven Andrighetto from the American Hockey League's St. John's IceCaps.
