Just four months after collapsing from a heart attackĀ on the ice, the Tucson Roadrunners captain laced 'em up and participated in Friday'sĀ morning skate.

On Nov.Ā 19, Cunningham suffered cardiac arrest prior to an AHL game vs. the Manitoba Moose and was rushed to hospital.

Cunningham's heart recovered,Ā but the procedures affected the circulation to his leftĀ leg and it was amputated on Christmas Eve.

After a tough road, hours of physical therapy and maintaining high spirits, Cunningham is already back on the ice and smiling more than ever.
