Nathan MacKinnon was the first name called out on Sunday at this year's NHL Entry Draft in Newark, N.J.

The Colorado Avalanche selected the 17-year-old centre after making it known publicly earlier in the week that they planned on drafting the Halifax native.

But it's not just the youngsters that made a splash on draft day.
