Connor McDavid leads Canada over Czechs in world championship tuneup

Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid scored while teammate Cam Talbot combined with Winnipeg Jets goaltender Calvin Pickard for 19 saves as Canada beat the Czech Republic 3-0 in a world championship exhibition game Tuesday in Prague, the home team's capital.

Buffalo's Ryan O'Reilly and Colorado's Matt Duchene also scored for Canada, the defending world champions.

"(The game) brought back great memories from last year's win," said Duchene, who was part of Canada's undefeated team last year. "We are only to get better as the tournament goes on."

Canada opens the 2016 world championship Friday against the United States in St. Petersburg, Russia.
