Winnipeg's Kevin Clark scores twice as Canada advances to Spengler Cup final for 5th consecutive year

Canada is off to the Spengler Cup final for the fifth year in a row. The national men's hockey team defeated TPS Turku of Finland 6-0 in semifinal action at the annual Christmas tournament on Monday.

Canada is off to the Spengler Cup final for the fifth year in a row.

The national men's hockey team defeated TPS Turku of Finland 6-0 in semifinal action at the annual Christmas tournament on Monday.

Kevin Clark, with two goals and one assist, Paul Postma, Chris DiDomenico, Eric Faille and Kris Versteeg scored for Canada (3-0).

The Winnipeg-born Clark now has six goals in the tournament.

"Turku came out hard and challenged us early in the game, but after we scored the first goal I thought our team settled in and started to gain some momentum," Canada captain Maxime Noreau said. "[Goaltender] Zach [Fucale] was great in net and was a very calming presence for our group.

"We are excited to carry this momentum into tomorrow's Spengler Cup final, and work to produce a different end result than last year."

Kevin Clark scored a pair to up his tournament total to six goals and Canada is headed to their 5th consecutive Spengler Cup final.

Goaltender Zach Fucale notched the 19-save shutout for Canada.

In Tuesday's final, Canada will face Trinec Ocelari. The team from the Czech Republic beat Ambri-Piotta of Switzerland 3-2 in overtime in the second semifinal on Monday.

Canada won three Spengler Cups in a row before losing last year's final in a shootout against KalPa Kuopio of Finland.

Canada has won the Spengler Cup 15 times.
