Antropov on his way to Rangers
The Toronto Maple Leafs traded forward Nik Antropov to the New York Rangers on Wednesday.
In return, the Leafs receive a second-round pick and a conditional draft choice from the Rangers.
Also on Wednesday, the Leafs traded forward Dominic Moore to the Buffalo Sabres for a second-round draft pick.
Antropov said he was looking forward to joining the Rangers.
"It's an Original Six team, they're in playoff contention, so I'm really excited. This is a new chapter in my life," Antropov told Hockey Night in Canada Radio.
Antropov, 29, is in the final year of a two-year contract and is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer.
The native of Kazakhstan played his entire nine-year career with the Leafs after being selected 10th overall by Toronto in the 1998 NHL draft.
Antropov scored a career-high 56 points in 2007-08, and has 21 goals and 25 assists this season.
