Tiger Woods's golf club goes airborne at U.S. Open

The angst of Tiger Woods reached a comedic level at the U.S. Open on Thursday. The former world No. 1's struggles continued through the front nine of his opening round. The low point happened at the par-5, eighth hole when Woods lost the grip on his club and watched it sail behind him.

The angst of Tiger Woods reached a comedic level at the U.S. Open on Thursday.

The former world No. 1's struggles continued through the front nine of his opening round in University Place, Wash.  The low point happened at the par-5, eighth hole when Woods lost the grip on his club in the rough and watched it sail behind him.

At least now we can all say that we've hit a shot like Tiger Woods.

The difference between Tiger and us?

He still managed to par the hole.

Still, Woods finished the round shooting an 80 and his tied for 152nd.

How bad is that?

Only two golfers — Rickie Fowler (81) and  Rich Berberian, Jr. (83) — finished lower.
