Els, Mahan, Donald to play at Canadian Open

Ernie Els, Hunter Mahan and Luke Donald will headline the field at next month's RBC Canadian Open, along with other big names like Matt Kuchar, Brandt Snedeker, Graeme McDowell, Jim Furyk and Vijay Singh.

Ernie Els, Hunter Mahan and Luke Donald will headline the field at next month's RBC Canadian Open.

The participation of the three U.S. Open top-10 finishers was confirmed by Golf Canada on Friday.

They will be joined world No. 5 Matt Kuchar, 2012 FedEx Cup champion and world No. 8 Brandt Snedeker, world No. 9 Graeme McDowell and two-time Canadian Open champion Jim Furyk.

Vijay Singh, a 34-time PGA Tour winner, and three-time Tour winner Camilo Villegas will also be in the field. Scott Piercy, the 2012 RBC Canadian Open champion and world No. 40, will return to defend his title.

Canadian notables set to include PGA Tours players Graham DeLaet of Weyburn, Sask., David Hearn of Brantford, Ont., Ottawa's Brad Fritsch, Calgary's Stephen Ames and Canadian Golf Hall of Famer Mike Weir of Bright's Grove, Ont.

The tournament will take place at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ont., from July 22-28.

"We're five weeks out from the RBC Canadian Open and very pleased with how the field is coming together," tournament director Bill Paul said in a statement.
