Solidarity, brawls and... twerking?

A few NFL players joined in the protest over the death of Eric Garner, Cam Newton started a small altercation in New Orleans, and Joseph Fauria auditions to be a backup dancer for Miley Cyrus. Here’s some must-see moments from Week 14 in the NFL.

Showing support

Several NFLers joined a growing list of athletes and celebrities protesting a U.S. grand jury’s decision not to indict a police officer in the death of Eric Garner, a New York man.

Video of the incident has been widely circulated, and it shows Garner, while in a chokehold, gasping “I can’t breathe.” That statement has become a rallying cry for protests across the U.S. about the decision.

NFLers wearing the message included Rams offensive lineman Davin Joseph and Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush.

Come on, refs!

After C.J. Anderson bulled in for his second touchdown of the day, the Broncos celebrated.

So did the refs.

Moments after Anderson's 1-yard touchdown in the second quarter of Denver's 24-17 win over Buffalo on Sunday, line judge John Hussey and umpire Carl Paganelli fist bumped after making what turned out to be the correct call.

While Bills safety Aaron Williams wasn't amused, the NFL had no problem with the gesture.

"It was an acknowledgment of good mechanics between the two officials involved in making the call," NFL spokesman Michael Signora said.

Fight! Fight! Fight!

Carolina quarterback Cam Newton scored a touchdown. That was good. Then he trash-talked the New Orleans defence.

That was bad.

The ensuing brawl spilled into the tunnel behind the Saints endzone, and resulted in one (!) ejection.

Now that’s just showing off

More proof that Odell Beckham works on a plane of existence above anything mere mortals can perceive.

No, you’re not seeing things

Is that…the Jets…doing something…good?

No. No, that cannot be.

Miley would be proud

And now here’s Detroit Lions tight end Joseph Fauria twerking.

Bet you were expecting a “tight end” joke, weren’t you. We’re better than that.
