Joseph, Glenn shortlisted for CFL MVP
Quarterback Kerry Joseph and Kevin Glenn were named the finalists Wednesday for the CFL's Outstanding Player Award.
Joseph received the West Division nomination after leading the second-place Saskatchewan Roughriders to their first home playoff date since 1988.
Heading into the final week of the season, he leads all quarterbacks with 687 rushing yards while throwing for 3,910 yards, 24 touchdowns and just eight interceptions.
Glenn was voted the East nominee.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers star has the passing title all but locked up with 4,921 yards— more than 600 yards ahead of his closest competitor, the Calgary Stampeders'Henry Burris.
Glenn has also thrown 25 touchdown passes against 12 interceptions for Winnipeg (9-7-1), which is second in the division heading into Friday's regular-season finale against the Montreal Alouettes(8 p.m. ET).
Joseph's Riders (12-5-0) wrap up their schedule Saturday against theEast-leading Toronto Argonauts (CBC, 3 p.m. ET).
Voting was conducted by the Football Reporters of Canada as well as the eight CFL head coaches.
The league will honour its top individual performers Nov. 22 in Toronto during Grey Cup week.
