	1. MONTREAL ALOUETTES [unchanged] Overall record: 12-5 Streak: One win A win is a win may work for others, but this one against Toronto was too bumpy for a team of this calibre. Too many yards given up on special teams. Still too prone to pass interference penalties. Weird little concentration errors all over the place. But the offence looked great. The Cats are coming in for the Eastern final in three weeks (it says here) so let’s get the little things fixed.
	2. CALGARY STAMPEDERS [unchanged] Overall record: 12-5 Streak: One win Henry Burris did not throw an interception, tossed for three touchdowns. Defence was tough. Running backs pounded. No sacks allowed. Just one turnover. The White Stallions look playoff ready.
	3. HAMILTON TIGER-CATS [unchanged] Overall record: 9-8 Streak: One loss If we had any courage (hey, we’ve been over this before) we might have dropped the Kitties a spot. Too many penalties, especially in that horrible second quarter that saw the Stamps score 24 big ones. Four turnovers overall and two sacks are far too many. QB Kevin Glenn had his worst game of the year. But this was Calgary. Two weeks to fix things.
	4. EDMONTON ESKIMOS [up from 5] Overall record: 7-10 Streak: Three wins We spend lots of chat on how good teams find a way to win even when they aren’t playing that well or have key injuries. Wait … did we just call the Eskies a good team? Ricky Ray is still injured, so backup Jared Zabransky came on to throw four bad interceptions and Edmonton beat Winnipeg anyway. That's 5-1 in the last six, folks. But they still have to win this week at Saskatchewan to guarantee a playoff spot or hope B.C. loses.
	5. SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS [down from 4] Overall record: 9-8 Streak: Four losses There was a moment in the loss to B.C. that must have sent a shiver down the spines of Rider fans, and not because it was Halloween. QB Darian Durant called a shovel pass, dropped back and then shovelled that pass directly into the hands of defender Aaron Hunt, who was wearing day-glo, see-it-for-100-klicks orange and standing three yards in front of him. That’s how you throw for more than 300 yards, two touchdowns and still lose. C’ mon, man!
	6. B.C. LIONS [up from 7] Overall record: 7-10 Streak: Two wins How the Lions are 6-3 in their last nine with that offensive line is just incredible. Five more sacks given up to the Riders. Wally’s boys have worked out how to play behind the Berlin Wall (push it hard enough and it falls over) -- you toss a lot of dinky little passes and rely on the receivers to make yards. Now, led by their special teams, the Leos have to pull the magic again this week at Hamilton and hope Edmonton loses at Saskatchewan. That can happen.
	7. TORONTO ARGONAUTS [down from 6] Overall record: 8-9 Streak: One loss Coach Jim Barker has been behind quarterback Cleo Lemon all year when so many others have jumped off that ship. After Friday’s loss to the Als, however, JB threw his pivot under the King streetcar in an obvious attempt to get his attention somehow, some way. Keep kick returner Chad Owens away from the Buffalo Bills when the NFL visits this week. Someone might kidnap him.
	8. WINNIPEG BLUE BOMBERS [unchanged] Overall record: 4-13 Streak: Three losses Did anyone notice that Joey Elliott, Winnipeg’s fourth string quarterback, threw for just 37 yards less this week than Toronto’s No. 1 QB? Both were ineffective, but the Argo version has started 16 more games, after all. The Bombers fought hard again. Lost again. Poor Fred Reid.
