Bryant tops CFL players of week

Stampeders wide receiver Romby Bryant was named CFL offensive player of the week Tuesday after his career game in Calgary's 30-7 rout of Edmonton.

Bryant had career highs of nine catches and 211 receiving yards in the victory last Friday.

Calgary quarterback Henry Burris was runner-up.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats defensive end Justin Hickman took the defensive player of the week nod.

The unanimous pick recorded four tackles, including three sacks, in a 26-17 win over the Toronto Argonauts.

Winnipeg's Jovon Johnson earned the special teams honour for the third time in four weeks.

Johnson, a unanimous pick, scored on a 79-yard punt return and finished with 254 return yards in the Blue Bombers' 41-24 win over Montreal.

Saskatchewan wide receiver Rob Bagg was named top Canadian after helping the Roughriders to a 33-30 win over the B.C. Lions.

He led the Riders with eight receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown.

Bagg was a unanimous selection for the honour.
