Belli dealt to Alouettes
Adriano Belli is heading back to the Montreal Alouettes.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats dealtthe defensive tackle to the Alouettes Monday for defensive tackle Clinton Wayne and linebacker Phillip Gauthier.
Belli, who wasborn in Toronto, leftthe Alouettesforthe Tiger-Cats in 2004. He was part of the Montreal squad that won the 2002 Grey Cup.
In 11 games with Hamilton this season, Balli, nicknamed "The Kissing Bandit," has 12 tackles and three quarterback sacks.
Wayne, a native of Scarborough, Ont., has recorded six defensive tackles in five games with the Alouettes this season. He's made 101 defensive tackles and seven quarterback sacks in 82 career CFL games.
Gauthier, from Gatineau, Que., wasMontreal's second-round pick in the 2005 CFL Canadian College Draft. In 12 career games, Gauthier has recorded four special teams tackles.
"With this trade, we've acquired two good, young Canadian players that can contribute this season and in the future," Hamilton head coach Ron Lancaster said in a statement.
"We wish Adriano all the best as he returns to Montreal."
Other moves made
Trading Belli was just one of the moves Hamilton made on Monday. Earlier in the day, the football team fired offensive co-ordinator Joe Paopao and offensive line coach Kani Kauahi.
The Ticatsalso added import linebacker David Dixon, who attended training camp with the NFL's San Francisco 49ers earlier this month.
The moves came two days after Hamilton suffered a humiliating 51-8 loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The floundering Ticats sit in last place in the East Division with a 2-9 record.
