Argos lock up Fontaine, Cetoute
The Toronto Argonauts locked up linebacker Raymond Fontaine and receiver Obed Cetoute just ahead of the free agency deadline.
Fontaine and Cetoute — the Argos' only remaining Canadians approaching free agency — signed contracts through the 2011 season.
The free-agent season opens at 12:01 a.m. ET Tuesday.
Cetoute is entering his fourth season with Toronto after missing all of last season while recovering from surgery on his heel. The Montreal native has 31 catches for 461 yards and three touchdowns in 23 regular-season games for the Boatmen.
Fontaine, who is in his fifth year with the Argonauts, has played in 62 regular season games and is a perennial team leader in special teams tackles. He had 13 last season and 69 overall.
Both players are of Haitian descent and have, according to an Argos release, worked to help their friends and family rebuild in the devastated country after the earthquake.
