Chandra Crawford retires from cross-country skiing

Canadian gold medallist and three-time Olympian Chandra Crawford has announced her retirement from cross-country ski racing.

Gold medallist and three-time Olympian Chandra Crawford has announced her retirement from cross-country ski racing.

The 30-year-old from Canmore, Alta., won Olympic gold in the women's sprint in 2006.

Crawford also won seven World Cup medals during her career, including two gold.

She's dealt with injuries in recent years. Crawford required surgery on both legs a year out from the 2010 Winter Games.

Crawford was eliminated in the first round of the women's sprints in Sochi last month.
