Selecting Canada’s Athlete of the Weekend wasn’t an easy choice as a number of Canadians brought home World Cup victories over the last three days.

We’re going with Dominique Maltais, who won her second consecutive event after winning gold in the women’s snowboard cross on Friday in Telluride, Colo.

The Petite-Riviere-St-Francois, Que., athlete held off teammate Maelle Ricker, of Squamish, B.C. in the final.

"I'm going to have a really good Christmas with these two wins," said Maltais. "It's a good way to start the season and now I get to spent some time with friends and family the next couple of weeks."

Maltais and Ricker then won the women's World Cup snowboard cross team final.

Maltais, the 2012 FIS Crystal Globe winner, also captured the season-opener last week in Austria.
