Canadian women drop to No. 3 in rugby rankings
England's 39-6 weekend win drops Canadians down 1 spot
England's 39-6 weekend win over Canada has moved the Red Roses back into second spot in the world women's rugby rankings at the expense of the Canadians.
New Zealand, which beat Ireland 38-8 Sunday, remained No. 1. The Canadian women, who have been changing places with England in the rankings the last few weeks, dropped to No. 3. France and Ireland were unchanged at No. 4 and 5, respectively.
Canada suffered from a tough schedule on its European tour, playing Ireland, New Zealand and England in a the space of a week. The Canadians opened with a 48-7 win over Ireland before falling 20-10 to the top-ranked Black Ferns.
The English, meanwhile, had a week to prepare for the Canadians after losing 25-20 to New Zealand.
Canada was unchanged at No. 18 in the men's rankings despite tour losses to Ireland, Romania and Samoa.
There were no changes in the men's top four with New Zealand ahead of England, Australia and Ireland. Wales moved into No. 5, bumping South Africa down to No. 6.
