Carpenter played his 75th cap on Saturday, moving him within one of Al Charron's national record.
However, that milestone will have to wait. Carpenter will miss Canada's remaining tour games against Romania and Samoa.
Charron joked that he was not wishing Carpenter bad luck in pursuit of his record.
