Marina Mabrey scores career-high 28 as Wings take down Lynx
Tina Charles scores 30, collects 15 rebounds to lead Mystics past Fever
Marina Mabrey scored a career-high 28 points and hit five of Dallas' franchise-record 17 3-pointers to help the Wings beat the Minnesota Lynx 95-77 on Saturday night.
Mabrey shot 9 of 13 from the field and tied the club single-game record for points off the bench. Arike Ogunbowale made 4 of 5 from 3-point range and finished with 16 points and six assists for Dallas (6-7).
Ogunbowale had eight points, three assists and two steals, and Mabrey had five points on 5-of-5 shooting from the foul line, in the first quarter as the Wings jumped to a 29-14 lead.
Napheesa Collier and Crystal Dangerfield each had 17 points and two steals for the Lynx (5-7). They beat Dallas 85-73 on Thursday night.
Charles powers Mystics past struggling Fever
Tina Charles had 30 points, a season-high 15 rebounds and three steals to help the Washington Mystics beat the Indiana Fever 82-77 on Saturday night.
Charles' three-point play gave Washington a 76-69 lead with 2:11 to play. Theresa Plaisance hit three 3-pointers and had 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Danielle Robinson had 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting for the Fever and added six assists. Tiffany Mitchell had 17 points.
Ariel Atkins made a layup to give Washington the lead for good at 68-67 with 5:30 left. Plaisance followed with a 3, Atkins added another layup and Charles was fouled as she finished inside to cap the 10-2 spurt.
Atkins scored 16 points and made 8 of 8 free throws, including six in the final two minutes.
Vandersloot leads Sky over Sun for 5th straight win
Courtney Vandersloot had 18 points and 11 assists, Diamond DeShields added 14 points, and the Chicago Sky beat the Connecticut Sun 91-81 on Saturday for their fifth straight win.
Allie Quigley and Ruthy Hebard each added 13 points for the Sky (7-7), who led 67-64 after three quarters and pulled away in the final three minutes, sparked by a corner 3-pointer from DeShields that broke open a two-point game.
Candace Parker and Vandersloot followed with baskets as the Sky pulled away.
Brionna Jones had a career-high 22 points on 10-for-16 shooting to go with eight rebounds to lead the Sun (8-5), who committed 18 turnovers in losing their third straight game.
DeWanna Bonner added 17 points, eight boards and six assists.
