Kyle Lowry has opted out of his Raptors contract.

Earlier Friday, his agency, ASM Sports, tweeted that the news, which Lowry had said would happen earlier in the week, was official.

The three-time all-star had one year and $12 million remaining on the four-year, $48 million deal he signed in July 2014.

Lowry averaged career bests of 22.4 points, 7.0 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game this season but was limited to 60 games because of a right wrist injury that required surgery in February.

The Raptors season ended with a whimper as they were swept out of the second round of the playoffs by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
