A bet is a bet and LeBron James kept his end of the bargain.

James and longtime friend and former teammate Dwyane Wade wagered on who would win Game 7 of the World Series between Chicago, where Wade currently plays for the Bulls, and James' Cleveland Indians.

The stakes were high ... really high. And of course, the Cubs won.

The loser would have to wear the opposing team's uniform Friday's matchup between the Cavaliers and Bulls in Chicago. Let's just say James didn't come out on top this time.

The King himself responded to his public shaming in a Cubs uniform ...

... and we know Wade and the Bulls are somewhere getting the last laugh.

Maybe the basketball star was wearing the wrong 'C' all along. The Cubs were quick to sign James to a one-day deal.

Love him or hate him, fans were impressed at James' commitment to honouring the bet:

While Cubs fans were enjoying this moment...for many reasons.

Don't worry LeBron, you're not the only one who made a bet that fell through. After Leicester City F.C. won the Premier League for the first time ever with 5,000-1 odds, sports broadcaster and retired footballer Gary Lineker had to present Match of the Day in his underwear.

It could be worse LeBron, it could be worse.
