Days after being waived by the Brooklyn Nets, Canadian Anthony Bennett is moving to Turkey.

According to ESPN, the former No. 1 pick in 2013 — the first Canadian to be selected that high — is expected to sign with Turkish club Fenerbahce in the Euroleague circuit.

A native of Toronto, Bennett was originally drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers but was dealt the following summer to the Minnesota Timberwolves along with 2014 No. 1 overall pick and fellow Canadian Andrew Wiggins. In return, the Cavaliers acquired Kevin Love.

Bennett also had stops with the Toronto Raptors (2015-2016) and the Brooklyn Nets (2016-2017) before signing in Turkey.

In 23 games this season with the Nets, Bennett averaged 11.5 minutes per game while scoring five points.

In total, the 23-year-old played 151 career games in the NBA, averaging 4.4 points and 3.4 rebounds.

Bennett suited up for Team Canada at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto as well as the 2015 FIBA Americas Championships and Olympic qualifying tournament.

As it turns out, Bennett isn't the only former Raptor and first-overall pick to be playing overseas this year.

Andrea Bargnani, a first-overall pick by the Raptors in 2006, is currently playing for Spanish club Baskonia Vitoria.
