Guelph's Ahmed Hill tallied a game-high 24 points but it wouldn't be enough for the Nighthawks, who recorded their ninth loss of the season with a 1-5 record at the Sleeman Centre.
The River Lions' next matchup will be against the No. 2 Hamilton Honey Badgers on Tuesday.
The Nighthawks are set to visit the Ottawa BlackJacks on Wednesday.
