Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson started Friday's game against the Baltimore Orioles with a walk in the first inning, a home run in the third, and a two-run triple in the fourth, making it 10 straight plate appearances reaching base.

The streak was halted at 10 when Donaldson popped out to right field in the sixth.

Starting on Wednesday against the Phillies, Donaldson reached in his final two at-bats, hitting a home run in the eighth and an infield single in the 9th during a 7-2 win.

In Thursday's 13-2 demolition of Philadelphia, Donaldson got on base in all five of his plate appearances, walking twice, doubling once, and adding two singles.

The official record, being that of getting on base in a fashion that raises your on-base percentage (walk, hit, hit-by-pitch) was set by Piggy Ward in 1893, who achieved that with eight hits, eight walks, and one hit-by-pitch.

Over Donaldson's last four games, he's reached base on 15 of 20 plate appearances.

With tonight's hits, he's also on a 10-game hitting streak in which he's had 18 hits, 11 for extra bases.
