Buck Martinez catches foul ball mid-broadcast
Blue Jays commentator insists he 'could always catch'
Buck Martinez proved Tuesday night that he still has major-league reflexes.
The Toronto Blue Jays broadcaster caught a Jose Bautista foul ball during the top of the third inning against the New York Yankees.
Martinez, who was a major league catcher from 1969-1986 — including six seasons as a Jay — quipped after that he "could always catch." However, in a nod to his offensive struggles, admitted that he "just couldn't hit" as he threw the ball to a fan.
Eyyy Buck Martinez can still catch

Fellow broadcasters Dan Shulman and Pat Tabler were quick to praise Martinez, who is in his second stint as a Blue Jays commentator.
"In all of these years, I think that's the first ball I ever caught," Martinez said. "I was worried about my face."

Is it too hasty to rule out a comeback for the 67-year-old? Yes, but some fans can still dream.
