Blue Jays' clubhouse tuned into Boston bombing manhunt

The seven big-screen TVs in the Toronto Blue Jays' clubhouse, usually glued to the MLB Network, were tuned to CNN on Friday as players watched for developments in the Boston bombing manhunt.

For Toronto pitcher R.A. Dickey, like his teammates paid handsomely to play a game, it was an ugly jolt back to reality — and thoughts of the 9/11 attacks.

"The thing I'm captivated by is just the evil and the hate of it all," said the knuckleballer from Nashville. "I just can't wrap my arms around it. And that opened up the wound that I think we all shared when that happened on 9/11. How does someone have this much hate inside of them to be able to do something like this, to go through with something like this?

"So it's been sad. A lot of the guys, we've been talking about it. It's a real sad sort of thing."

The Red Sox and Bruins postponed their games Friday as the city was in lockdown while authorities searched for a suspect.
