Ben Revere, Mark Lowe acquired by Blue Jays
Anthopoulos added 5 players to Jays this week
Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos has done everything he can to help the Jays make a run for the postseason, now its up to the players.
Anthopoulos helped the Jays(52-51) shore up the bullpen Friday while also adding to their outfield, acquiring right-hander reliever Mark Lowe from the Seattle Mariners for three minor leaguers along with trading for outfielder Ben Revere from the Philadelphia Phillies.
The 38-year-old Anthopoulos has been busy this week, also adding stars Troy Tulowitzki and David Price along with reliever LaTroy Hawkins. Shortstop Jose Reyes is the only impactful roster player that has been dealt this week from the Jays, as Anthopoulos has dug deep into the farm system, dealing a ton of prospect pitchers.
The Jays are two games out of a wild card spot, and six out of the division lead in the American League East, and well-stocked up to make a run for their first playoff spot since 1993.
Philadelphia obtained minor league right-handers Jimmy Cordero and Alberto Tirado from the Jays in the Revere deal.
The acquisition of Revere will add some much needed speed to the Blue Jays lineup, and a steady presence in left field, as Kevin Pillar as appeared to solidify his role in centre playing some great defense this season.
"I just want to try to get on base and let the big boys do the work," Revere said.
The 27-year-old Revere has posted a .298 batting average with 109 hits in 2015, along with 24 stolen bags in 2015.

Revere packed his stuff at his locker upon learning the news and plans to leave for Toronto on Saturday morning.
"I want to go there, do what I can to help them make the playoffs," he said.
Revere, from Atlanta, spent time with the Twins before the Phillies, has stolen 169 bases since 2011, second most in the majors.
Revere adds an element of contact hitting and speed that Toronto lost by trading shortstop Jose Reyes to Colorado for Tulowitzki and Hawkins.
"Just having that pest, that guy that can come up and you can have that big strikeout guy on the mound and you know he's going to put the ball in play, put pressure on the defence, steal a base when everyone in the park knows he's going," Anthopoulos said of Revere. "It's just completely a new element for our offence."

Lowe shores up bullpen
Toronto sent left-handed minor league pitchers Rob Rasmussen, Nick Wells, and Jacob Brentz to Seattle in the deal for Lowe.
Lowe, from Houston, has appeared in 34 games this season, posting an ERA of 1.00. He is also averaging 11.8 strikeouts per nine innings while only issuing 2.8 walks per nine.
"He's got the stuff and he's performed where he can pitch in the late innings," Anthopoulos said. "This was an upside guy that's performed that's maybe not as famous, but he's performing as well as some of the other relievers in the game."
Lowe's acquisition, along with the addition of LaTroy Hawkins earlier this week will help bolster a bullpen which has struggled this season.
He has also posted an ERA of 0.93 in innings seven through nine this season.
Doubront headed to Oakland
The Blue Jays also dealt left-handed pitcher Felix Doubront to the Oakland Athletics for cash considerations.
Doubront, 27, was designated for assignment on Wednesday by the Jays.
