Anthony Gose sent to triple-A by Jays with Rasmus healthy
Toronto has dropped 7 of past 10 games
The American East-leading Toronto Blue Jays reinstated outfielder Colby Rasmus from the disabled list after their latest loss and optioned outfielder Anthony Gose to triple-A Buffalo.
The Blue Jays lost to the New York Yankees 3-1 Tuesday night, their seventh defeat in 10 games.
Rasmus was put on the 15-day DL on May 15 because of a sore right hamstring. He's hitting .222 with nine home runs and 19 runs batted in.
Gose took strike three with a runner on third base to end Tuesday’s game. He was hitting .233 with four RBIs, and had tailed off after a solid start.
"We wouldn't be where we are right now without him," manager John Gibbons said.
Said Gose: "It's just part of the business that we're in.
"It hasn't really sunk in yet. I'm just going to have to accept the assignment and make the most of my time down there," he said.
