German rowers clinch spots in all 14 Olympic events

Germany will be the only country with boats in all 14 Olympic rowing events this summer after three of its crews secured qualification for the London Games on Wednesday.

German crews in the women's pair, lightweight women's double sculls and women's eight made it through in the final qualification regatta at a World Cup event in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Australia also added three boats to its team to complete a lineup of 13 crews, the same as host nation Britain.

With Belgium, Hungary and Ireland also qualifying boats on the Rotsee course on Wednesday, it means a total of 59 nations will be represented in rowing on Dorney Lake at the Olympics.
