Giles Blunt on his best job ever

Giles Blunt is a bestselling Canadian mystery writer. His most recent novel is The Hesitation Cut. One of his early jobs was working at the Children's Aid Society. This interview originally aired on November 23, 2015.

The best day job I ever had was working for the Catholic Children's Aid Society in Toronto. I worked in the Court Services department and, as a result, I got to meet all sorts of different kinds of people that I never would have met any other way: criminals, judges, many policemen, lots of social workers, drug addicts and a lot of people who have been on the wrong end of the stick their entire life. That experience totally enriched my life and has been a well that I draw from again and again in my fiction.
