How reading Jack Kornfield's Bringing Home the Dharma inspired folk singer Ashley Condon to be a better person
Ashley Condon is a P.E.I. singer-songwriter who won new artist of the year at the 2012 PEI Music Awards. In 2017, she released her fourth album, titled Can You Hear Me. Condon recently read Jack Kornfield's Bringing Home the Dharma: Awakening Right Where You Are.
A book of wisdom
"What I really like about Jack Kornfield is his practical advice on awakening the heart. He is a practicing Buddhist. While I wouldn't call myself a consistently practicing Buddhist, I consider myself to be a spiritual person. I'm somebody who wants to grow and be the best person that I could be. His book acts as tools for that. His chapters are usually smaller and have so many nuggets of wisdom. Even if I pick up the book and read one chapter, it helps keep balance in my life. The advice that he gives is usually what I need to hear on that day. Kornfield is amazing for bringing to light a practical approach to being a better human."
