RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson on the Michael Zehaf-Bibeau video
Months after it was promised by RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson, MPs finally got a chance on Friday to see the cellphone video made by Michael Zehaf-Bibeau before he shot a soldier and stormed Parliament Hill on Oct. 22.
In the short video, Zehaf-Bibeau tied his attack on Cpl. Nathan Cirillo to Canadian Forces missions in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Commissioner Paulson joins us to explain why it took so long to release the video. He also updates us on the state of the investigation and weighs into the debate over the need for new anti-terrorism legislation. He says the limited resources at his disposal put him in a "tough spot."
The video was first made public at a special meeting of the House's Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security. Conservative MP Roxanne James, NDP MP Randall Garrison and Liberal MP Wayne Easter join us to discuss what they saw.
They also discuss the impact the video will have on the debate over the government's anti-terrorism bill.
