On The House midweek podcast, Chris is joined by CBC senior reporter David Cochrane, in Japan for his first overseas trip with the Prime Minister for the G7 summit.

"I didn't really know what to expect — I'm certainly not in St. John's, Newfoundland," the former political reporter from the Rock says.

"If you went on a plane with the premier, it was an eight-seater and the entire press corps and the premier's staff could fit on it. This is a little bit different. Just the sheer size and scale of it, the attention to protocol, the attention to rules. It's a fascinating experience."
