One month delay for trial is another legal limbo, Mohamed Fahmy
In our Checking-In segment, we hear from Mohamed Fahmy, the Canadian journalist awaiting trial in Cairo who says he is back in an excruciating one month legal limbo. The judge has postponed the trial so that a new committee can review video evidence.
In February, we spoke to the Canadian journalist Mohamed Fahmy, days after he was released from a Cairo prison on bail, and days before his retrial in the Egyptian courts began.
The Al Jazeera journalist had been locked up for 400 days on terror related charges, accused of supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and falsifying news. Yesterday, his retrial was postponed until April 22nd.
For an update on where the case is right now, Mohamed Fahmy joined us from Cairo, Egypt.
