Music was always a way to move through adversity.- Tim Baker from Hey Rosetta!

Newfoundland and Labrador is known to have a culture rich with music and art, but many artists say the scene is under threat. 

In December 2015, the city of St John's tried to cut arts funding by 50 per cent but there was such as outcry they backed off.

In Newfoundland and Labrador, there are approximately 1,200 artists, who earn on average 30 per cent less than the overall labour force, according to a 2014 report funded by the Canada Council for the Arts.
