'F**k You & Goodbye' author Matt Potter argues quitters shape history

"F**k You & Goodbye: The Dark & Hilarious History of Resignation" chronicles how high profile resignations in politics, arts and business have changed the course of history.

It's often been said that winners never quit. But sometimes, the quitters really win! Today, it's a celebration of resignation with 'F**k You & Goodbye' author Matt Potter who joins us to talk about the most underrated career move ... saying, "I quit."

Steve Slater's exit from his job as an air steward for JetBlue went viral when he spoke his mind to passengers on the plane's PA system, grabbed a beer and slid down the emergency chute at the JFK airport. (Facebook)

Whether it's in a boardroom or at a burger joint, at some point in our lives we all secretly wish to say 'I quit'... and to do it with style. Well, according to my next guest, the dramatic exit may be more than just a day dream. He argues that there's a lot to be learned from studying resignations.... whether they happen to go up in flames, or down in history.

Matt Potter is a journalist, historian, and the author of a new book called, "F You and Goodbye: The Dark and Hilarious History of the Resignation."

We want to hear from you! Have you ever resigned? If so, why? And if you've never quit in a fury... do you ever dream about it? Or do you have a resignation letter to share with us?
