A little while back, while strolling near the Vatican, journalist Megan Williams came upon a vendor of papal trinkets and rosaries at St. Peter's Basilica. Almost all the street-vendor permits in Rome are held by Jewish vendors. It`s  a centuries' old tradition and one that was renewed in the wake of the Holocaust, when extra permits were given to the handful of survivors who returned to Rome.

Megan struck up a conversation with a vendor known as "Il Canadese" -- The Canadian.
