On the internet it can seem that nationhood is blurred, or even irrelevant. We watch and read content from all over the world and often don't notice where it originally came from. So what does that mean when it comes to our sense of belonging to one place or another? Do we have an online citizenship that differs from our actual one?

James Bridle explores these questions with a browser plug-in he created called Citizen Ex. It uses an algorithm to assign you a digital citizenship based on the websites you visit.
