The Toronto International Film Festival is one of the busiest and buzziest film festivals in the world.

And it's not just about the star-studded parties. TIFF has a huge impact on the film industry, and has premiered some of the biggest films of all time: American Beauty, Slumdog Millionaire, Black Swan and last year, Moonlight.

This year, the festival will show 339 feature and short films. That's 27,438 minutes of film, chosen from over 7,000 submissions from 74 countries.

Over the next 10 days, the q team will be attending screenings and interviewing directors and actors at TIFF — you can listen for those interviews in the coming weeks and months.
