From the crib to the AGO: Guillermo del Toro's lifelong kinship with monsters
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro tells us about the beauty of monsters in his new AGO exhibit.
In his films Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy, Pacific Rim, Crimson Peak and the upcoming Shape of Water, director Guillermo del Toro consistently features monsters.
Now, del Toro has lent some of those creatures to Toronto's Art Gallery of Ontario for a new exhibition called Guillermo del Toro: At Home With Monsters.
del Toro talks to Tom Power about why he's happy to share his dinners with Frankenstein, Dracula and the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and why, instead of sinners, he sees monsters as saints.
Guillermo del Toro: At Home With Monsters, featuring a sample of Guillermo's extensive collection is open until Jan. 7, 2018 at the AGO.
